ANNOUNCEMENT
Community Centre Closure
The Centre is currently closed for new activities. However, we are pleased to continue to host the Community Larder once a week. Finally, we are pleased to say that , while we have been closed, we have been able to completely refurbish the toilets which adds to the recently refurbished hall, lounge, office, and meeting room.
We look forward to opening as soon as is possible in the New Year and welcoming the community back to the centre.

Happy New Year!
This is to let you know what has been happening since we had to close in March.
Although we have not been able to re-open we have been busy. Firstly, we have continued the improvements inside the centre and the ladies’ and gents’ toilets have now been completely refurbished. The refurbishments have been funded by a very generous Charitable Trust, the Summertown St Margaret’s Neighbourhood Forum, our local councillors and a number of private donors and we are immensely grateful to all of them.
Secondly, during this period we have been delighted to be able to host the Cuttleslowe Community Larder. This is a weekly food event based in Cutteslowe for members of the charity SOFEA. The Cutteslowe Community Larder obtains its food from SOFEA and SOFEA works in partnership with FareShare, who rescue food from suppliers and supermarkets to redistribute to families in need. The larder is run by dedicated volunteers and is a partnership between Cutteslowe Community Association, SOFEA, the Oxford Hub and St Andrew’s Church.
Thirdly, on the Sunnymead Minnows under-5s front, although we haven’t been able to start all the provisions yet, Bumps to Babies is taking place at Cuttleslowe Primary School and a new class ‘Tiny Towns’ has had its first session at the Pavilion in Cutteslowe Park and will be continuing into the New year.
We are sad to report that Tenika Blake, our office admin wizard, has left us but we congratulate her on her role as project worker at the Nursey & Garden Centre in Cutteslowe Park. Tenika did a great job and we will miss her greatly.
We have been following government and local council guidance and we will open as soon as we can in the New Year when the safety guidance allows. We hope to begin with the children’s classes such as Art Club and Dance Club and the Youth groups. As soon as we can we will!!
We have very much missed welcoming the community into the centre and we look forward to a New Year where we can welcome you back to the centre to make it the vibrant community hub that it always has been.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2021

Cutteslowe and Sunnymead community reps
To date there are few streets in Sunnymead and Cutteslowe with community reps trying to set up support. If you feel that you could look out for your street, for example by leafleting to find out who can offer support and who needs it, just for this temporary period, please consider signing up to be a street champion through the Oxford Together programme. This is being run by Ox Uni volunteers and is being supported by your councillors.
